I've had 2 cars since I sold my saxo...and both were Jap.

Cant beat them for reliability and performance.

Firstly I had a 2000 Toyota MR-S (import), absolutely loved this car for the handling but just lacked the power really.

I have now moved onto a 1995 Toyota Supra, have to say the car is an absolute beast!

i went from saxo VTS to bravo HGT back to VTS then to Starlet Glanza V and never looked back im now not far from making 350bhp on a 1.5 turbo :)

It'll be a rough Glanza/Starlet for £3000 unless you drop lucky.

I'd get a phase1 Clio172 with that money. I really like the phase1, they look more aggressive than the ph2 and there are far less around now. However, it's a Renault and as we all know Renaults fall to bits rather quickly. Good fun cars though.

Other ideas:

106Gti/Vts (as mentioned).

(I don't like 206s)

Polo 1.6Gti? 125bhp, VW build quality, good level of equipment but not that fast.

a toyota of some discription

i moved onto my MR2 and love it even though it is non turbo it still is quite fast and handles amazingly.

i would avoid a glanza tbh will be hard to find nice example.
