Magnex vts backbox on a vtr?

My mate recently just wrote his 2002 phase 2 VTS off so he decided to take his magnex backbox off it and he gave it to me. I was wondering if anyone would know whether it would fit my 2001 phase 2 VTR? I did have a quick look under the car but the pipe coming off the magnex box will make the clamp a lot further back than it is at the moment. (i currently have the original backbox on)

It will fit yours but you will need to cut down your standard pipe then fix the magnex to it with a clamp. Take it to quickfit - loads easier than scrabbling round on the floor yourself.

Yeah as i remember magnex are sleave fitment, and therefore you need to cut the center section of your orignal exhaust. Easy job to do just need to buy a u clamp and some paste. But an exhaust place probably wouldn't charge much.

i took the backbox down to quickfit this morning and when they put my car on the ramps, they told me that they probably wouldnt be able to fit it because the bore on the pipe coming off the magnex backbox is quite a lot bigger than the centre pipe going to my original backbox. Is there anything i can do to fix this problem or would it just be easier to sell the magnex backbox and get one which is specifically for my model?
