Hi everyone.

I'm new here, but I've been lurking for a while getting tips and advice for my Saxo. But I've got a real problem now.

A while ago I noticed that when I started the car, put the handbrake off and slowly reversed out of my drive, the handbrake would stick for a while (on the rear left) until the car eventually shunted it out. It got pretty bad but after I did a long drive it seemed to go away.

But a similar problem has happened. When I was driving the other day I felt a real drag on the car, I even stopped because I thought I had a flat. The tyres are fine, but there is a slight hissing noise coming from the wheel and when I got home there was a bit of smoke coming from it.

What should I do? I've had a look under the car to see if I can loosen the handbrake cable, but couldn't even find it

Handbrake cable is in the middle underneath your car mate, but sounds like you need to rebuild your rear left brake also check the brake lines aswell. to adjust your handbrake its really simple all your need is the spanners or sockets :) hope you get it sorted, try the handbrake first, then brake lines then get your brakes apart if your not so lucky with the other two

Cheers dude, I will have another look at the handbrake, but if that fails then I might chicken out and take the car in, sounds like it's beyond my capabilities!
