Warning: Some May Find This Image Disturbing

Massa Crash Pic (http://img193.imageshack.us/i/75533811.jpg/)

This image clearly show's the Spring hit his helmet just above the visor, causing his helmet some pretty bad damage and partly ripped his visor off!

You can see he has a pretty deep cut above his right eye, some rumors suggesting he even has a fractured skull although it is just rumors. If it had hit him straight in the visor I dare say he would have been killed pretty much straight away :/

It's been confirmed he won't race tomorrow obviously and only Raikkonen will race as the current rules don't allow Ferrari to put another driver in for the race.

Edit: Massa skull damage confirmed (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77276).

The rule is. 19-changes of driver

"19.1 a) During a season each team will be permitted to use four drivers. Changes may be made at any time before the start of the qualifying practice session provided any change proposed after 16.00 on the day of scrutineering receives the consent of the stewards.

Additional changes for reasons of force majeure will be considered separately."

"19.1 c)If one of the team’s nominated drivers is unable to drive at some stage after the end of initial scrutineering, and the stewards consent to a change of driver, the replacement driver must use the engine, gearbox and tyres which were allocated to the original driver (see Articles 25.3 and 28.4)."

Seems to be up to the stewards really.

up to the stewards

Could of been so much worse if it was further into the center of the helmet, Lets just hope that he's ok.
