30th July 2009, 11:17
when i bought the car, mine had a load of this hardened, spunk coloured glue stuff spread around the base if the aerial and tissue paper stuck up under the ceiling carpet inbetween the driver and passenger seats (below the aerial but inside) haha!...
My sunroof seal also came away the 1st time i opened it up, so i stuck it bk in place and havent opened it since and never will haha!..

30th July 2009, 11:26
That happened to mine aswell but you just need to unblock the drains down the side of the front window and then seal it up and it will be fine :) mine hasn't done it since

lol no more stolen aerials! dude my car is actually pissing so much water too, its leaking out of the motion sensors in the car,,, must be the sunroof seal im guessing>>????
Mine leaks out of the motion sensors 2, means i have to turn them of when i'm locking the car :wall:..pain in the ar*e it is. Doesnt just leak there though..if i brake hard it runs down the inside of the windscreen..its as if someones just turned on a tap.
I no its just cause the sunroof drainage pipes are blocked but i'm to lazy to sort it.

I had this problem in my mk1 vtr - just fixxed it
1 leak was coming because someone snapped of my ariel
so i got a new one and i siliconed it to the roof
Aswell as this there is 2 drainage pipes for ur sunroof that let all the water down through the car to the floor
mine was blockeed so it all stored in the edge under the sunroof and round a corner and boooosh soaaked
so i took all roof lining off removed sunroof cleaned the drainage pipes out and siliconed sunroof down
and its been mint ever since.

My car has silicon around the black sunroof trim around the sunroof, the thing is i was looking at it and the silicon hasnt been done very well...
When my mate drove my car 19 miles from the dealer i bought it from to my garage it didnt leak even with patchy silicon?
But yeah the other day i opened the sunroof as far back as it'll go and noticed that the seal under the sunroof glass has come away from the lip it goes over, so i put the seal back over the lip and now i reckon its sorted...
Shows that some people are too lazy to even check it before slapping silicon all around the outside trim LOL
So now im gunna remove all the silicon from around the black plastic trim and park my car outside when it rains on purpose to see if ive solved it.
Tbh i think i have so im happy :)

I have siliconed the black trim around the sunroof and cleaned out the seal between where the glass sits and the black trim. Also i took the aerial out and siliconed that too.So far no more leaks :y:

mine does all it comes in around the sunroof winder i think its the drainage holes aare blocked on mine because water is always standing round the rubbers of the sunroof which gives me impression that it has nowere to go.. so the drainage holes musst be blocked?
