This is an old Thread, but I have the same Question?

Basically I wana put a Steering wheel on that has no Airbag... Because I don't think mine works anyways due to the seat wires not being plugged in.

Also is it legal to remove the Airbag?

Its legal to remove the airbag however my insurance company(churchill)old me if I remove it & fit an aftermarket steering wheel then they won`t insure me because its a safety feature.Actually removing the airbag & the control ecu is straight forward the module is located under the carpet in front of the centre console disconnect the battery for 10 mins before taking out the module (unplugging it all etc).

Ahh right so it'll pass the MOT alright.

Will it go off if I unplug it before 10mins or without disconnecting the battery?
Is it easy to get the wheel off? Just asking because if I wana put it back on at some point, will the air bag still work? I donno how they work you see... Like if it'll fall out once the wheels off or what lmao.
