On saturday i replaced my standard VTR brakes with a 306 HDi setup so now im running 266mm disks, we did however have to modify the brackets the calipers sit on as they were too big and knocked off the strut so you couldnt fit them, but we sorted that problem and there on and work great! The main problem we have is that the pedal is still spoungy, we've bleed the brakes and its still not any better!!:wall: Does any one know how to solve this? i thought that mabye we need a bigger master cylinder to solve this but the 306 HDi has ABS so it only has 2 brake lines out of it and ive got a VTR without ABS so its no good!

Any help on this would be much appreciated!

you can get a bigger 4 port mc to put on the car

however normally its not spongey pedal thats the issue its pedal travel

i would say try and bleed up the rear brakes aswell as the fronts if you havent

The pedal travel on mine with 266mm brakes increased a little, but I wouldn't say the pedal was spongy.... got used to it after a day or two. You can adjust the pedal using this guide (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=194460), never felt the need to myself.

As above, bleed all four brakes in sequence. From the Haynes...

A)Left Hand Rear Wheel
B)Right Hand Front Wheel
C)Right Hand Rear Wheel
D)Left Hand Front Wheel

Mmmm cheers every one, AlexB, what MC can i use on my VTR? I did have a 206 HDi MC but the bolt holes are completly different to the VTR ones, mines horizontal!

Cheers Liam ill have a go at this some time this week when i can be bothered, its a sunday and im just too lazy to be arsed lol!

After i had my 266mm setup fitted with goodridge stainless hoses, they bled the brakes and i havent noticed any extra pedal travel at all from standard.

Happy days!

yeh, the stainless lines are well worth getting, considerably better pedal feel i found.

I found the Goodridge Saxo hoses were a little too long to use with different brakes... mine used to rub on the struts when turning lock to lock. The Exact ones Kam Racing sell are cheap as chips and are a better length. :)
