Whole car vibrates and is noisey

My vts has got alot louder over the last few days in terms of engine noise inside the cabin. And you can feel all the vibrations from the engine through the car now.


I assume it must be the exhaust touching the underside of the car somewhere but I cant for the life of me see where :panic:

Are there any common places? Its got a magnex cat back if that makes any difference.



PS sounds the same ie nice and quite from outside the car.


Any suggestions apreciated before I go deaf and nuts :wall:

Check your engine and gearbox mounts for wear.

could he heat shields on the exhaust system, the exhaust may have moved and so be hitting the chassis, also worth checking the engine mounts etc

Possibly touching a heatshield or will be catching on the lower gearbox mount at the exhaust -> manifold joint.

Right I gave up and took it to the local garage to get it on the four post ramp as I was fed up of laying under it :|

realigned the exhaust and he is 99% sure its my upper gearbox mount thats worn and causing the problem

Good old engine mounts!! should replace them with group N mounts.............:y::y:

My bfs gti done this, until he fixed his engine mount then it was peaceful again!! ;)
