im buying a high milage'ish phase1 saxo vtr in silver, was thinking of buying a lower milage mk2 engine(100bhp) and fitting to it, just wondered

1. is it a straight drop in?
2. any wiring?
3. ecu problems?
4. what will i need
5. how much will it all cost

6. peformance ideas of your own that you can share(much appreciated :p

Thanks everyone!.

engine would be a straight swop, but there would be wiring involed.

you could just run the new engine on the old loom and ecu, u might have to swop some sensers and bits from the old engine to the new one tho. but not sure if ur have the 98bhp of the new engine as im not sure wat gives the new engine the extra power, a better cam or a better map on the ecu.
but thts a simple way to do it ;)

just take the loom with the new engine and plug and play ;) keep ya old gearbox and shafts... bobs ya uncle, 10 brake more...

Or before you fit it, think about cam, rallye inlet.... 4-2-1 ??
