At the moment i have crappy budget tryes on and want to get a really good set of tyres as i think that will make a massive distance to the handling etc. so.....what do you reccommend for me??
cheers

Alot people seem to go for goodyear eagle F1's or toyo proxies. I tried some vredesteins on my last 106 and they were brilliant in winter. Loads of grip.

toyo proxes t1-r's all the way mate, one of the best investments ive made, will always use them from now on, them and eagle F1's are best road tires imo

You can't get Eagle F1's or T1R's (unless you can fit a wider tyre) on VTR alloys. I found the Kumho KU31's were quite good and other people have rated Toyo Proxes CF1's aswell.

I've got uniroyal rainsports on my 306 at the mo, with 195/50/15's dunno if you can get them in saxo sizes mind. They are cracking tires and have never let me down.

remember toyos wear down quicker than a few other tyres
imo, for road use, you want to get the mix of durability + grip / functionality
michelins are great for this, although more epxpensive, theyll last for a very very long time
your right in saying a good set of tyres is the biggest difference between a good handling car and a bad one

michi sporty pilots . . . not cheap, but wont get much better!
eagle F1 are great too! and at a fraction of the price of the pilots...highly reccomended, but as said above, you wont find them in such a small size for VT alloys.
hell, jsut get the R888, and keep it slick! just note, you will be on chords within 20 miles lol.

Got some Yoko A539's on mine and there brill in the dry, seem ok in the wet but I havent pushed them. If you want decent 14" tyres I think you've only got the Yoko A539, Kumho KU31 and Michlean Pilot's (unless you want proper semi slicks).
Camskills and mytyres seem the cheapest place to get tyres, for the price of the KU31's id try them.

OK well could you help with the size of a standard VTS alloy?
I too have the yoko a539s on at the moment and agree they are not too good in the wet. Yokos are generally soft tyres.

As said really, toyo proxes t1r's are very good tyres for road use, and like a few above i've ran yoko a539's and they are good if you can get hold of them

I think there fine in the wet if you can keep the heat in them, but public roads arent a track so im not risking it :P
VTS, you just want 195/45. Get toyo T1R's or Goodyear F1's in that size, i remember seeing T1R's for £35 a tyre on ebay a few months ago...bargain.
I forgot you can get 185/60/14 F1's, I wonder if they would fit VTR wheels?

vts wheels i'd recommend 195/45/15 eagle f1's
vtr wheels i'd recommend 195/45/14 toyo tr1's

toyo t1r 45/195/15 came in at £178 delivered through camskil and £172 delivered through ebay.
Anyone tried bridgestone? i know the potenza is an excellent hard wearing tyre.
