Saxo east coast cuts out in wet weather

My east coast always cuts out when it has rained and it has chance to get wet. The battery light will come and on and flickers while i am driving then the car will just die and sometimes wont start again for a good 2 hours. I have had the car on diagnostics etc but no one can find the fault the only thing i know is it does it when it gets wet. Does anyone have any ideas?
