Hi everyone, need some help and advice
i have a 2001 Saxo, when i came to start it the other day there was nothing happening, only a clicking sound
i was out in my car the day before with no problems. lights and radion still working so not sure if it is a battery problem, i have it on charge at the moment, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated:(

Sounds like your battery or your starter motor. Try charging the battery and see how it goes. If the battery keeps going flat then suspect the alternator.
If you charge it and get a click then suspect the starter motor.

just put jump leads on and it started first time, and kept running after leads were detached. after fifteen mins tried to start again, nothing at all

When you charged your battery, did you check the battery electro-lite level? assuming thats if its the maintenance type. Just undo the six caps and check the levels, if they are down then top the cells up with distilled water, but dont overfill it, just so the plates inside the battery are covered, then charge your battery. However if the levels have been low for a while then possible damage will have been caused to the plates and you will have to replace your battery. The two cells which are more than likely to be low are No1 and No6.
If your battery is of the non-maintenance type then look in the small indicator disk to see what colour is displayed, green indicates the battery is fine, red indicates the battery is low on charge or knackered.
Having established your battery condition, assuming it is o.k the the problem may well be your alternator.
