I have just changed the radiator on my wifes 1.1 saxo, had a bit of an air lock to start with but is cleared now, since the rad change the temperature guage is lit up all the time and the fan is kicking in even when the engine is cold. Any advise please.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few hours or overnight. This resets both the ECU and the dashboard and can work.

This has all the hallmarks of my first post on this forum way back in June concerning my daughters car. Quite rightly as Bob C suggests, try disconnecting the battery as this can sometimes reset the ECU. The other alternative is to do what I had to do and pay £20 to have the ECU reset.

Hi Grumpy,

Yes indeed it does. Here is your original thread with your helpful resolution post: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=239534

Here is another that is "fixed" by either resetting the ECU or the dash: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30227

engine temp sensor mate . . .
when rads are replaced and air locks are found in the system, they tend to go from my experience! ... 4 times now!

replace the sensor, for around a 5er.
found somewhere with a diagnostic machine, and ask them to turn the light off... thats what i did, as i have one at work... problem solved.

Hi again, Right here goes-- Disconected the bettery over night this did not work. I have changed the engine temperature sensor and the other sensor below it that screws into the block something to do with the ECU and fan relay and this also did not work, I have bled the water system fully again and still no joy.
Getting a little bit fed up now.. Anymore ideas please guys ?

You still have to get your ECU reset by someone with a diagnostic tester/resetter, especially now as you have replaced temperature sensors.
