Was at my GF's for lunch, went to take her abck to work.

Went to pull out of her concealed drive onto a national speed limit road and my VTR just started jerking really badly, then it was just jumping and I was stuck in the middle of the road.

Then a car came round the corner but fortunately it had only just pulled out and was going very slow otherwise it would have rammed straight into me!

Then everytime I touched the accelerator it just jerked really violently, but I had to get out the road so put my foot down and reversed off the road, then pushed it back into her drive.

Now everytime I start it the engine shakes really violently and there seems to be alot of oil around the engine, and as Ive said, if I touch the accelerator the engine shakes really violently.

I know nothing about engines, so anybody got any ideas?

Thanks in advance :)

Firstly, check the oil levels and look for the source of the leak. Check around the cylinder head (top of the engine) down to the engine block for the source of the leak.

Is the engine warning (malfunction indicator) light on the dash lighting?

went to have a look, coulndt find the source of the leak, but now when i switch the ignition on the fuel gauge doesnt move at all and when the engine was turned on it just cut out as if there was no petrol in it, despite the fact the tank was over a quater full.

Its not looking good at all :n:

I checked the oil levels and they seem ok, and there is no warning light on the dash.

Any ideas at all anyone?

You may have blocked fuel line or filter........

You need to get some help to localise the problem to being either:

1) fuel mixture
2) spark related
3) compression

Yeh because thats helpfull, you need to check what liquid it is in the engine bay whether it fuel, oil or coolant then you have more of an understanding as to what it is. Do the basics ie look under the oil cap for residue as well as in the coolant etc
