MK1 Sidelights Problem

Posting on behalf of a mate, he owns a MK1 VTR, last week after fitting new headunit, his sidelights stopped working (including dash light up), however the rear left sidelight still works.

So far changed all bulbs still not working, checked fuse, blowing fuses, it blew a 10AMP fuse for fun, checked rear wires for loose connections etc.

Looking for some advice?

Check fuse 12 (I think) in passenger compartment fusebox.

Right on again Bob C. Fuse 12 supplies the Front Sidelights, RH Tail light, Lights on buzzer and illumination. The fuse is recommended as 5A. Check to see if anyone has added additional features to the supply i.e alarm, radio etc thus causing an overload.
