something happened to the gearbox

just washed the car and reversed the car out tried to get out of reverse and took alot of effort when i put it in 1st didnt feel right so i put it in neutral and where you normally get tension pushing left to right there is no tension to the right and when you put it in gear it flops around like its in neutral????

any ideas my first thought was the linkages but i dont know my stuff tbh any help?

sounds like one of your linkages has gone mate. Just get under the car and you'll see them.

If it isn't the linkages mate, there is a bit where the linkages go into the gearbox which went on mine. Tried to weld it but no luck. Luckily (well not really) the gearbox went and had to replaced anyway lol.
