the 1.4 8v engine can do 112mph - cit & pug's stats

weather or not the car can get there is a different matter.. air resistance y0!

lol . .. why is everyone so bothered about the top speed, you never use it!

one, i love the look and styling of cars that go fast ... twat, engine / perforamnce section for a reason!

two, look online, rather than post your pointless thread on here.

three, grow a pair and try it . . . on a private road, or an uncles airfield ofcourse. :homme:

i find it funny how everyone says 'on a prvate road' when we all know the truth that most have done it on an empty/dark motorway/dual carriage way. next we're gonna get people saying they did it on there driveway lol

You cant really determine Top Speed on a car like a saxo unless you do a dyno tests......after 100mph the dials will always be inaccurate.........

or maybe they drove them on private land ;)

Yeah its pretty stupid the way people don't want to get slated by "driving like a twat" so they tell people they were driving on "private roads"

Bullshit LOL

this one time on the m6....whoops i mean my great uncle charles p chadwick the thirds private runway i did......well i dunno as the saxo clocks really arent that accurate tbh so its all just pub banter what they say

maybe i should have asked the ferrari i was chasing as his clocks migh be more accurate

i should imagine speeds arent tested on dynos as wind resistance plays a big part. i could be wrong.

lmao! to get 120mph out of a 1.4 how long was you traveling for to get that bout ten mile with your foot to the floor! screaming at the dash shouting come on!!!!!! wile watching it creep up a mile an hour every hour!!

if this was true y would anyone buy the 1.6 they wouldnt! would

but as sum sed top speed is ireelivent its acceleration you want

Get to 100mph the fatest you can cause then youll be gone!

GoochyBoy

you always have to consider::
Wind
Angle at which the road is accending / descending
And what is in your car - i.e Sub/People - adds weight

the hole private road thing cud be solved by living in a place with genuine de restricted roads! makes live farrrrrrr easier. i have had 120 on my VTR clock

E3D
11th August 2009, 15:54
a standard 1.4's topspeed on a flat road is 110mph. Any faster will be due to: mods, hill, bullshit.

I had 120 outa my vtr and it had more to go. On my private road (the M4)

11th August 2009, 18:48
Clocks are very inaccurate after 100mph

If you havn't got access to a dyno you can accurately obtain speed from sat nav's if you wish
