Some MC's around today in the Bounce Scene are ten times more talented than the original "Old Skool" MC's of yesteryear.
Just the music, the DJ's, MC's, Promoters, Events, Website's etc get slagged off a hell of alot these days for being "chavvy".
If only people actually knew what the word "Chav" meant instead of spouting it as they have repetitive verbal diarraheoa.
Mind you, the DJ's in many a scene where MC's exist get overlooked horribly.

a good point above, the word chav is thrown about too much
having said that, the rave scene was mostly full of chavs
i find that now its a mixture of chavs and uni kids out for a ravveeee duuuddeeee etc etc
back on topic: depending on what genre of music / style of MCing, it can be good.. obviously you have to have talent to make it good
not knowing about most scenes i can only comment on the old skool grime & current dnb scenes... both as above are filled with good and bad MC's

Bounce / Donk doesnt interest me tbh, the scene is tiny compared to House / Funk etc but Hard House does float my boat, similar most would say but I love that kinda music.
Mc'ing wise..
Two words, MC Harry Shotta, that guy is in my eyes, massively talented & one of the best MC's in this country.

many a good dnb set has been ruined by a shite MC, especially when the mic is overpowering the tunes
or even worse, MC's over liquid dnb
people like GQ, mcAD, SP:MC, conrad, phantom, inja and a few others are good, good lyrics, good flow, the right voice, and they dont mc constantly. its more hosting, let the people hear the music as much as possible
what pisses me off the most is white MC's with carribean accents (or attempted accents anyway)

mcs work brilliantly if theyre working to compliment the tune rather than just waffle shite over the top of every breakdown and mix there is. that applies for hardcore mc's in my opinion anyway.
as far as drum and bass goes theres some amazing mcs and some dreadful ones. for example, skibba, shabba, fun, shotta, GQ, eksman... for me they all get the job done and i enjoy listening to them
on the other hand it completely kills a set for me if the likes of fatman D or bassman are on, as they just dont do it for me. all personal preference at the end of the day though

think someone above mentioned the dj's are a little over looked, guys like blackmarket, zinc, profile and back in the day micky finn really make it easier for the mc's

Meh.
Tell you whats ruined a few music genres tho'...
People sponging free mp3's, rinsing them, and the producers being a$$-raped and getting no comeback.
MC's aren't "Moronic Cunts" just for MC'ing, thats like calling plumbers cunts for just doing there job, maybe the promoters bringing in these MC's are the cunts huh?
Not having a dig at you btw.

Some MCs are pure genious'
2 of the best MCs in the UK imo are Ghetto and Sway. Ghetto has tight bars and Sway MCs about real life situations/experiences and adds a few jokes in too had a unique style aswel very clever MC.
Ghetto - U & Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RtjZguip_s)
Ghetto (few wierd noises) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBZnf-iykro)
Ghetto 'murkin' Wiley (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSCh3c1ysGs)
Sway:
Not the best tune, but clever how its a proper story with a few jokes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9IpF5_j2Ss)
Plenty of stlyes all one track Genious (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L33LJan5GFo)
True talk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfSJsJuGzs8)
