Hey guys, car is 98 saxo vtr. De pined the doors and would like to install LED's into the 6mm grommets used to cover the hole where the door pins once sat. My question is what can i wire the l e d's up to. id like them ON when the car is off and locked. i thought if all else fails ill hide a 12v battery in the door card with a switch but would rather it was hard wired. Any ideas?

my alarm led in the centre console is wired to the headunit , yellow and red wire, ones a switchable live and the others a permanent live if i remember? not sure if the led positive or negative goes to which coloured wire.

wired like this the led turns off when the key is turned and turns on when the car is off. ive also mounted an inline switch so that i can turn it off completely whenever i want.

Inline switch is a good idea, will have a look behind my head unit, thanks LSOfreak. Are there any other perminant's live near by i could tap into.

not quite sure. i had a long hard search in this section to find out which wire goes where. my flashing led had a little circuit board with it so i could adjust the rate of flashing etc. with a positive and negative wire coming off it, which i connected one to each wire.

imo its easier to have just one led in the middle of the car. bit more hassle with one in each door as you have to feed it through the plastic tubing in the door shuts

I think the FAG lighter is your best bet mate.

so its flashing during the day when your driving? wired to the headunit works better imo
