sound to me like you had bad fuel. drop some hotshot in or redx that will help. also use tesco 99 or v-power

saxo problems come and go , sounds like you sorted it then, was it sat for a while before you brought it?

Maybe it's just burned all of the water in the cooling system?

i hope thats the case mate. i did notice the smoke only started when the engine warmed up. and the engine runs lovely. i hope it is only water in the exhaust.

it might have just been burning what was left of the cooling system, fixed a mates suzuki off roader thing with the HG and after we fixed it, it was still burning white smoke, let it run for a few minutes and it was sound :)

so do u fink just putting coolant back in will make it ok agen?

is it still using coolant? If so id suspect head gasket not done properly, i.e. not skimmed and could have gone again! :(

ye man, it's not a good place to be..possibly consider getting a sniffer test from a garage/mechanic? Not the most accurate of tests depending on where the head has failed (tests if it has gone between the water channels iirc) but still could be worth it depending how much money you have.. but i suspect if you are still losing coolant and white smoking then unfortunately it would suggest HG .. but it just depends how much water vapour is still in the exhaust system from when it went before, that would cause white smoke..
