Do you deliver Pizzas / Chinese?

Do you have tissues for the parcel shelf?

Are you from the middle east?

If yes to any of these,
buy one.

Wait,
you want to buy a 1.8 Coupe and you think a 2.0 hatch will have no umph? O_o

I like some Jap stuff.

EK9 - win
JDM DC2 - win
EP3 - win

ok mate ive driven a 99 vti coupe and it was very good imo

ive never driven a 172 or 182 but i have driven a 197 and that was quick as fook :fcuk:

im going to get a coupe vti as my next car as i really like them and i think they will probably be more reliable than anything french :homme:

You're thinking of the normal 1.6, they're cheap as fuck.

And the EM1 VTI is not a 1.8, its got the same engine as an EK4 iirc.

172 vs vti coupe=bye bye civic. my mates vti hatch was not even a match against my vts. theres no comparison id go 172 every time. my interest with hondas starts at dc2 and accord rs.

Why would someone driving a nice coupe go against a stupid chav in a Clio hatchback?

If I was driving a Civic and some cock in a 172 tried to race me I would point in their face and laugh at them.

Had a Civic Jordan (EK4) at the same time as a Vts.

When it's on cam the Civic will keep up with a Vts easily in a straight line. Not as quick off the mark or as agile but still not bad. Nowhere near as fun to drive either. Painfully slow at low engine speed imo.

As for Vti vs Clio 172, yes, no real contest but the Civic wouldn't be at a garage being repaired every other week.

i forgot about the jordan ek, very nice looking car those are i know they are pretty much the same car as the eks but theres something about them especially when done right, but id still take a gamble on the shit reliability and problems that the clio sports can have compared to a vti which probably never will go wrong.

also compile some sort of list of whatype of car you want i always do it, and slowly eluminate them and go to town on your research and specs and performance and in the end you will be left with the true car you want.

Fair play.

I had a 172cup and it went wrong all the time. So bad in fact, I was on first name terms with the guy on the service desk at Renault by the end.

That said, it was an absolute hoot to drive! I can't recommened a 172/182 enough. Excellent budget performance car especially now that these cars are near the bottom of their depreciation curve.

However, the fact I traded it for a Polo Gti (sounds crazy I know) but that tells you everything you need to know about the reliability of the car.

Back on topic........

I can recommend a VTI especially from a reliability point of view. Mine didn't go wrong in 3 years and all I spent was service costs. The things is I think they look really dated now and on the standard car the interior is more bland than bland. As I said before, I found the lack of torque irritating and just not my cup of tea when I look back.

Test drive one and see what you think.

I have mates with both a 99 vti coupe em1 (which are 160hp 1600's) and a 172 phase 1 with the cable throttle and not a lot between them to be tottaly honest.

Never been in a 197 on the road only around the ring and its grippy and fairly pacey upto 100ish but the interior is a MASSIVE fail.

Civic is a nicer car but id still probly go for a early 172 or late 182 ff and live with the shit interior.

Vtec VS one of if not the best fwd hatch chassis'd cars
