are you the guy that crashed at the roundabout?
furioboi
13th January 2006, 17:10
so im woundering if they will void my insurance becuase i didnt declare it was lowerd 40mm and got some 15" alloys. i cud act dumb saying it was like it when i bought it (which it was) but ive been told because it wasnt my fault my insirance wont want to no about my mods. but what you think?
scook
13th January 2006, 17:13
my mate had an accident when the cars was lowered and he didnt declare it (it was his fault) , made hime pay an extra 500 excess on top of his 400 , if the guy that you crahsed into contests it you may have to pay something out (could be the fact that your insurance is invallid, depends what company you are with), you should always declare your mods
Chris
13th January 2006, 17:22
The garage will fix your car but will probably only replace the parts with standard parts as the aftermarket parts weren't declared!
If they do void it then that's a bit harsh........ but as already said YOU SHOULD ALWAYS DECLARE YOUR MODS regardless of if they were already on the car when you bought it.
My car already had a HKS front bumper, HKS Induction kit, Scorpion exhaust and Core Sport rear spoiler, but I made sure the insurance company knew everything!

the thing is its at my dads best mates garage who will repair it. but we think its a rite off.

furioboi
13th January 2006, 17:31
but will my insurance even want to see my car? becuase it wasnt my fault? like i said my mum rang our insurance and they didint wanna no what hapend because it wasnt my fault. so why would my insurance void it or wateva if they dont find out
evisu
13th January 2006, 17:31
If the crash wasnt your fault then they wont check as its not your insurance paying out
furioboi
13th January 2006, 17:35
thoguht that too mate.
Clouds_mate
13th January 2006, 17:35
but wont the over company want to see the car if they are paying out?
Sounds to me like, 17 year old, driving like a dick on mums insurance to cut cost and didnt declare mods to save more money
furioboi
13th January 2006, 17:38
no its not liek that at all. im only on here asking for advice ffs.. yes and their insurance assessor are coming out to check the damage, but the guy whos garage its at who will be repairing says its a rite off.so..
but even if their assesor says its rote off or repairable or wot, why would my insurance get invold with checking mods on my car
Chris
13th January 2006, 17:43
Can't the garage quickly change your alloys for some steelies or are the wheels all mangled up in the wreckage?
Leckie - No need for that really mate, he was only asking for advice, not to be slated.

BE ON THE SAFE SIDE.... DECLARE MODS.
saxx
13th January 2006, 17:50
no chris that mod list has shortened from the last post that got closed. there were tints and other bits too
sorry but the assesor is instructed by the insurance company. has nothing to do with your dads mate
the assesor will write down everythin and then this will be produced before a claim is sorted
as ive said before insurance companies play dirty askin alot of quesions to try and prove it was someone elses fault
if the other kid mentions your a modded car owner who over took dangerously causing him to slam his brakes on dont instantly belive its going to be his fault it could quite easily turn into a 50/50 claim if proven you driving like a TWAT!
also i believe the other company have the right to view your policy, therefore they could refuse to pay out as your policy doesnt cover you due to the mods the assesor will take note of!

Sorry Chris, but the guy started a thread the other day about it and that was locked for asking the same question,
If it was me i would of spent the last two days putting my car to standard instead of asking for advise on the net. Hes got the same answers as the other day.
Yeh i feel sorry for him because when i first passed i didnt no about telling the insurance. But i would put the car back to standard to cover my own ass.
furioboi
13th January 2006, 17:57
but i wasnt driving like a twat. he had plenty of room, hes even taken blame saying he was looknig in the back etc...and he didnt break until he hit me. so theres that. thats not what im bothered about, its the mods and if theyll void me

tbh the other kid could be doing the same thing. but he could also have come across the post by this guy sayin his mods arent declared and tellin the story.
email link to insurance company and theres ya details for reduced claim!

and chris he wont b doing the same mate, hes got a 200quid knackerd seat. and hes sorted that out already.he just didnt give a fuk. plus he drove off after..but he did get out and say dnt worry il sort it, rign me when you get home. i was so shocked i jus flipped out
furioboi
13th January 2006, 18:13
yes i do because its his fault, anyone with that amount of room would not carry on speeding when he can see me stopped
al_VTR
13th January 2006, 18:14
its been said plenty of times that you should've declared your mods, and its pretty clear when you take out a policy. they specifically ask you questions about whether the car is standard or modded in any way.
i would be suprised if both insurance companies didn't try to get out of payment because of the invalid policy. saying that, you may have to pay extra excess to cover the undeclared mods
Clouds_mate
13th January 2006, 18:15
well if he was speeding? and you was over taking that makes you speeding? and in the police's eyes that would be racing. Just be careful what you say mate. Things have been aired on forums and they have later been fucked for it..
al_VTR
13th January 2006, 18:16
yes i do because its his fault, anyone with that amount of room would not carry on speeding when he can see me stopped
but you must have been speeding to overtake him, then have to brake pretty hard afterwards if it was only a 100m gap ?

this topic is going same place as the other one,
Lets just leave. People learn from there mistakes

furioboi
13th January 2006, 18:23
rite...we first turned a corner...he was pissing about slowing down etc...so i dropd to second overtook. when i overtook i carried on going (ok i was speeding 10mph or so) i made sure ther was a big gap. then at the round about i did have to slam on, as their was a car on the right, but no locking up. seconds afetr id come to a full stop, BANG.
But when i overtook and got a distance from him their was 100metres until the roudn about.
right iv said it all, thats it just leave it. if i get fukd for it its my fault for overtaking, but from me i personally think its because he hit me up the rear.
al_VTR
13th January 2006, 18:24
i agree Leckie, lets just leave it now. sure he won't make the same mistake again
Barry123
13th January 2006, 18:37
If you havent declared your mods then your insurance is INVALID which means you're breaking the law.
If you both have the same insurance company you might be screwed, but i doubt otherwise.
From your other post is does sound like you were driving like a nonce. tut tut
Adam_K
13th January 2006, 20:07
i'd just like to add that you sound like a prick.
that is all.
Yates
13th January 2006, 22:03
adam k that is totally out of order, did you see the other thread? he admitted his mistakes and accepted what was said.
if it was me i would be puttin the car back to standard mate, your fault or not.
well 100m isnt the best gap, and yes you shouldnt of over took him, but that is enough room to get infront and slowly break without slamming on, how fast were you going?
if hes admitted he wasnt looking when you started breaking and only breaked once he hit you then hopefully should all go through ok, but i would seriously consider putting steelies on and taking tints out the window
Dan
13th January 2006, 22:05
No need for that Adam! If you have nothing useful to contribute then dont at all.
So your mates with this other guy then if he has your number yes? Sounds to me like you were both driving stupidly, and I honestly think you deserve what you get as does the other guy.
Even if you act dumb and tell them you were not aware of the mods, thats not there problem and they will not see it the same way you do.
saxx
13th January 2006, 22:07
i think the comment is perfectly called for.
dan you were banned for doing a less idiotic thing than that!
Jimbo
13th January 2006, 22:09
sounds like you need to go and make your car look at standard as poss m8!
if i were you take all your ice out the back and maybe take the spare wheels out too jsut to make it look that little bit higher at the back... put steelies on too and rip out the tints
I'm never treating my beloved furio like a racing car lol

i think some people on here should think about what they are saying and hold their tongues before they rant and slag people off! smileys/smiley4.gif
even if someone is in the wrong, so what. does it effect you??
they didnt post a thread and say 'opinions of weather im a twat or not please' he didnt deserve to have things said about him like that. as for declaring your mods, its up to you, if you do you pay the price, if not you pay the price when your caurght out!
as for speeding, everyone does it! you want to call me a twat for doing it??
if someone crashes into the back of your car, its their fault, regardless in 99% of accidents and its hard to prove otherwise, as the person should be alert and consentrating on driving and the road ahead and not driving like a twat, as some of you kindly said.
end of rant smileys/smiley17.gif

if someone slams there car infront of u in this kind of weather, especially a new driver, everyone can see that it isnt the person going into the backs fault.
heard of a response time? braking distance?
if that kid had a witness he wouldnt be blamed for that accident.
if the kids insurance company had a clue they'd screw him over - i know mine did theyre best to find a clause to remove blame from me.
as for sayin no one has the right to call him a twat?
think of your insurance premium boz and how much they have/are. take a look at who posted the accident. theres ya reason as to why!
i think the more zero tolerance people take instead of tip toeing around the subject the better!!
