Hi guys. I've now had a number of cars since my Saxo VTR however i cant help but always come back here for advuce when i need it. Without a doubt more wealth of information than any other forum. Anyway now i can afford the insurance i am stuck between the following cars :
Punto GT Turbo 1.4
Toyota Styarlet Glanza Turbo 1.3
Seat Ibiza Cupra Sport 2.0ltr 16v

I'm looking for speed really from a standing start. If i get the cupra will i regret not getting a turbo??
Thanks guys
Chris

Personally I would go for the Seat, mainly because of the looks

If you was to go for the Seat...you would kick yourself for not saving up and going for the Cupra R which is obviousley a 1.8 turbo which like a quite recent thread quite alot of people own on here. Out of the two turbo car's you have left would most deffo be the starlet.

Id lean towards the Glanza but have you thought about a GT EP82?

love the seat but insurance is overpriced and most have high miles was looking at them before i got my r. all of the fiat turbos i have seen have had serious problems with electronics etc, love the glanza's form the outside but interior = tacky! but you can really pile on the bhp if your carefull with what your doing, think i would say the toyota weighs a hell of a lot less than ibiza aswell

Seat Ibiza....not many about, basically a mk3 golf gti engine...starlets look crap and punto are crap

also the ibiza has loads of modification potential. Audi tt comp wheels, decked and smoothed everywhere

I didnt realise he had listed the Sport version. Is it true its seriously underpowered for a 'sport'? As said get the Cupra R or not bother IMO.

true but if hes looking for a quick getaway they arent very quick on getaway you need to rev them up! plus only certain engine mods are possible on the 16v wheras the glanza has shed loads of options! saying that though if it were my choice and insurance and miles wasnt a issue would have the seat:P

na that age cupra sport has the 150 brake engine out of the golf gti mk3 16v which is pretty much bulletproof and has a fair amount of top end grunt

Chris

why not get a seat ibiza cupra 20vt then?

its turbo

probably cheaper to insure than any car on that list too

although glanzas are awesome!

I'd lean towards the Seat, although the Toyota has better tuning potential. Punto isn't that bad, but iffy reliablity and quality ratings.

just looked at the newer ibiza cupra r turbos and insurance is sky high guys :| same as a 172 clio sport. I really believe its out of what i said and thats pushing it to 2k with the starlet being lowest and seat highest

out of that lot the starlet im a big fan of them 2 pals have the late and early ones. bear in mind though a cammed vts is faster than all of those options above, but ive noticed most of the punto turbos seem to be running good power this end and so will waste a vts.

no votes for the punto...what are they like speed one if you get a decnt standard one??
and if i went for the Seat would i always wonder what it would be like to have a turbo?

yes you will untill you buy a turbo if its already cast in your mind it will always be there if youve already got the taste in your mouth for a turbo youll always want one.

glanza is very dated inside however, the exterior is beautiful.
i think white, with white alloys is pr0n.
another thing is, they lick serious speed with the right tuning which is of ease aswell.
downside obv, is a turbo...pretty high maintanence cost. but frankly, id live with that for the *tssssssshhhssshh* in every gear change =P

GLANZA TURBO
it may be a 1.3 but they are rapid!!!
go on piston heads you can get some up to 200-300bhp
and cheap aswell and cheap to insure:y:
