Being in compeitions doesnt mean you are a better drive than anyone, it just means you are willing to spend your money there.

Look at simon norris for example.

Again could be fast over 1 lap over a track half out of control, or over a whole day consistently putting in fast lap times and not spinning etc...

Ive seen many 'fast' drviers on track, most end up in the gravel alot or the wall, theres being quick and being dangerous and out of control. The later soon runs out of driving talent sooner.

And define best? Most consistent, fastest, safest, most experienced etc.

Just a little point, I know many saxos that often wave bye bye to atoms, caterhams, xbows, 911s etc etc....

It doesnt really mean alot on track if they have a better car if they drive it badly.

Which is the point a few of us have made, you cant make direct comparrisons without doing back to back tests etc...

When it comes to racing ME mwhahaha. I dont mean on the road. For 2 years i was constantly on the podium in the ikp 24hr pro kart championship. Have a 75% win percentage in a pro kart. I came second in the mg metro cup 3 years ago in the lowest powered group a car (this isnt the rally group n group a cats) standard 1.3 engine.
Constantly stick to people arses around tracks on track days in much slower cars. :)

haha quality thread fucknos whos the best, im alright but driving a 1.4 with a 0-60 of 15 seconds and driving a car with a 0-60 in less than 7 seconds is a totally different kettle of fish, i thought i was the shit till i bought my zs 180 and realised topping out on islands at60-70 mph thinking i was fast i was so wrong, i dont rate myself now im driving propper cars because its like learning all over again learning to see how far you can push it that 60-70 mph round an island or tight bend in a 1.4 corsa corsa is nothing when you jump in something that handles well and goes like shit off a shovel you thought it was amazing before now its how much bollocks have you got to find out just how far you can go and thats what frightens me now i was never scared in my old cars to take a bend flat out, although certain roads that i like late at night i try and improve on my turning and seeing how less i can turn the wheel and how close you can get to the inside and watching dangerous cambers that throw the car out of balance on lift off.
ive encountered full 4 wheel sideways in the vts when i had a 182 chasing me car came off the 1 island from hams at about 80mph as its a big open island lifted off for the bend there was diesal all over the road car went sideways back on the gas all good fun, but i know theres way better than me outthere. what i dont call better though is people who have a death wish who will crash the car to be in front, many a time in the welsh lanes nob ends have overtook me on blind bends thats just stupid im all for fun but my aims to have as much fun as i think i can handle i back off if you get a total maniac wanting a race, id never push my luck with headtowards on coming cars at the last minute.

ive always wanted to do sme kind of motorsport but its money id also love to take part in the lynn rally in northwales.

i think theres alot of respectable talent on this site aswell, noticed people doing trackdays and rallying etc... so i wouldnt even compare myself to their skills.

curbourough sprint course whoever sets the fastest lap time wins its 1 car at a time not expensive like other tracks as its only a small track im up for taking the celica round and there will be aload more different types of cars there. youd be able to do a few laps and still have tyres and brake pads left. id expect the saxos to do very well as its not about speed really till the last straight.
