Searched google and here but doesn't come up with what i want.

Is there a charge to switch car insurance over to another car, and keep the insurance running? Ive still got 6 months left, and if yes, how much usually?

Thanks

unsure on this however i would imagine so as its a different car so they would probs want to charge more or less money for it etc also admin charge for the hassle for them to change it most likly

ThanksThe basic answer to this is yes.

It also depends on the class of car you are gonig to be having as well, as its all down to your premium and you may also find with some insurance companys that you start a new 12 month when you change over.

You can normally do it and have it running til the end of your insurance. Charge could depend on if your premium will go up like if its a higher spec car plus how ever much they charge for admin fee's if they do. Best to ring up and ask them.

Admin charges is what im after, a estimate price. I know the insurance will go up if i get something in a different category but when i phone them up i will see.
Thanks

Think it ranges from £10 - £30, depending on how much they want to charge you. On my policy it says if you change anything on your policy, admin fee may be charged and that they reserve the right to alter the fee without notice.

Edit: In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, we are entitled to charge £10 to cover the administration costs.

there isnt a charge for changing cars usually. any costs incurred would be a result of the car in question costing more to insure than your current car therefore requiring payment for the increased premium

Or they may just say that they wont insure you on the car you want to get.

More Th<n do not insure people under 25 on insurance group 16+ cars iirc.
