Xbox wireless adaptor/ ethernet help?

got a wireless adapter now but its a pain in the ass. as some people have sed get an ethernet cable. can i plug the ethernet into my laptop and into the xbox or does the ethernet have to cum from the modem or router to the xbox help please...

My wireless was a pain in the arse aswell kept getting full bars then suddenly dropping to 1 due to interference so just went out and bought a ethernet cable and its much better :y:

can you connect the ethernet straight from the laptop to the xbox or does it have to be to the modem or router?

you can plug the ethernet cable straight into a laptop and computer as long as you connect it through the laptop or computer that is connected to the internet

i found my xbox wireless adapter to be pretty stable and and always stayed connected just fine. However if you want to go cable from a laptop i don't really see how that works because a laptop generally only has one ethernet port.

surely the laptop would be connected to the internet via wireless.

The Xbox wireless adaptor uses the same transmission system as any other WiFi. They can be a pain to setup as some routers block them and you have to do it all manually. Once you get it all setup you should be fine unless your out of range or something is interfering with the WiFi signal. But that is all a WiFi problem and not the Xbox it self.

If you do wish to use the lan cable all you do is plug it directly in to the router. If you already have something plugged in to that you can plug a hub in that can split it to let you plug multiple computers in. Lan is best if you are not to far from your router

mine has been spot on. when i used ethernet through a wireless laptop all my settings went crazy and both my laptop and xbox would not connect to the net (to the point of pulling my hair out it mucked up so bad).

tbh it depends where you router is etc as to how well it will work. i dont think i would change mine its been good to me so far!

mines set up as

home comps and wireless downstairs.
upstairs my wifi laptop which ive pluged a ethernet cable to
running to my xbox

on vista u can set it up to run a xbox 360 or "console" so yes itworks and mine is pretty good

recently mooved back to my mums house and wireless adaptor works fine with no problems. so i'll be keeping it for now.
