has anybody on here ever had it ? i have had it for two week now its really starting to get on my tits, been to docs today and he has give me another course of eye drops for 7-10 days. worst part is day light makes my eye water like a bitch, and aint aloud to wear my contacts. anybody else ever had bad experience with this horrible infection

chloramphenicol for the first week then left it for a week now today i have been given 7-10 days of fusidic acid

yeah antibotics.
thing with contacts is they act as a shield for infection, as once its in, its hard to get out therefore penetrating the cornea
its nasty, we have a few come in at work and its a 3 week recoverey time usually. just keep bathing the eyelids with boiled water thats cooled down to keep the area clean, in the morning & at night or as required

i have bought some optimax eye bath stuff would that be ok ? is it normal for it to sting when going out in day light sounds daft but can really hurt lol

yes mate that should do the trick, we recommend that to our patients too.
yeah your eyes are sensistive to light, when going out wear sunglasses. they're stinging as its part of the eyes healing process - nowt you can do really. photophobic think its called..
take regular analgesia, ibprofen works well

sunglasses are out the question now as im having to wear glasses just to see lol so i would look like a right idiot with sunglasses over the top haha, i think your established member should be changed to medical advisor haha

i feel for you mate, i get it all the time and i wear contacts aswell! just try and avoid going out in the sun, because it does bloody hurt, and dont rub or touch your eyes unless your putting drops in them or your going to irritate it even more!! nightmare mate, hope you feel better soon!!

ive had it twice this year already its well crap, and people always asks "who hit you?" as your eyes all swollen up and red haha hope you get better soon buddy its not fine having it :n:

i have wore contacts for a number of years been in shity dusty environments and never got it now im just sat at home i bloody get it typical, hopefully should clear soon tho , to make it worse i got a sort of ulser on my eye aswell

on my 18th bday i was rundown mega... i had a bad cold, a bad case of conjuntivitus, tonsilitus, and you know the dangly bit at the back of your throat... that swelled up and i nearly choked lol... I feel your pain !
