For anyone that is interested.

PS3 slim announced at gamescom. The slim and old ps3's will now all be priced at $299.

Release date, 1st week of September.

Looks better without the gloss, the dust you get on the glossy one is unreal.

Small, smaller components, less cost.

They're only £180 in the US aswell :|

Slim uses less power than the phat model aswell.

Bigger HD
More reliable
Cheaper to run
Cheaper to buy.

Win win :D

was just thinking that, mine would have probably survived longer though if it wasn't such a big thing between shelves.

I got 1 of these yesterday, nice little machines really. They are using the new 45nm technology so should help to keep it a lot cooler.
