strange noise need help!!!

driving on motorway few weeks ago released the accelorator and heard a grinding , scrapping noise stops when accelerating and doesnt do it all the time took it to garage and he moved an exhaust heat shield as it was scrapping on gear linkage. took it out next day still doing it so took it back up and they said it was something to do with the exaust barrel next day still doing it so just had engine mount and buffer bar will this be it any ideas ???? sick of paying out money and it not getting fixed please help also not long ago had stainless steel system fitted could it be this?

I know this sounds like an odd question but was the tarmac on the patch of motorway that anti skid stuff - the beige colour?
My car does this on the patch of it around the M25 nr j28

When you hear the grinding can you feel it in the footwell and pedals slightly vibrating aswell?

If so, it's the tarmac :)

maybe wanna check ur exhaust is fitted together tightly and not tryin to work its way loose if its new. the exhaust system will move when u put ur foot down so worth a look
