I am going to be fitting some new subframes to my car soon so thought i take a look underneath the seat and have a go at removing it, removing was fine but then seen the wire attached running from under the floor attacehd to the seat. What is it i thought its the airbag wire?? And how do i go about taking it off and the attaching to my new subframes??
If anyone could help it would be really good.
Cheers :boxing:

it the wire for the pre tentioner on the seatbelt clip.. there should be a small plug some where along it it's will be cliped to the underside of the seat and a plug some where along it.. but when you disconect it the air bag light will come. not sure on connecting the pretentionaer back on to the new subframes but im sure some one will explain that

Mate just make sure you disconnect the battery 10 mins before removing the plug else the airbag may go off.

Its not part of the subframe mate, its part of the seat belt pretensioner. (the bit that your seatbelt plugs into). Its only attached to the subframe to keep it tidy.

What i did when i had bucketseats + harnesses was just tape it up and hide it under the carpet. Theres a slit in the carpet where it comes out, i just pushed it under there.

You airbag light will come on if its not plugged in but it never bothered me.

YOu can get resistors as well to create a circuit and turn the light off as well.

They shouldn't check it as an mot, its the make sure the car is roadworthy.
an airbag light doesn't upset the car or make it any more or less dangerous so it should be fine,
