When i want to put the car into reverse, the car doesn't seem to like it, i mean, it won't go in without a fight, any ideas people?

Check the gear linkages for wear. Should only cost about £30 to fix.

mines does this aswell sometimes it will go in no problem other times a nightmare a few of ma mates who have saxo have the same problem just thought it was with an old car :S

mine does that, and its really difficult to get it into other gears to sometimes, how do i check it?

mine does it tooooooooo!! had new clutch fitted and then it wouldnt go in...i gotta put it in another gear 1st...neutral...clutch out...then reverse....right pain in the behind...
then other times it slots right in 1st time

i have to go into 5th to get a run up for reverse!

Mine slots straight in, then other times i have to take my foot off the clutch, press it again and it usually works.

I think in general they are just a pain in the arse lol

Hi,
I think Danr is right.
Check your gear linkage rods especially if you are having problems selecting reverse and/or 5th, these wear with time.
Check and adjusting the clutch cable may help also.

Mine struggles getting into 1st and reverse occasionally.... silly car

I think in general they are just a pain in the arse lol
Im just putting it down to being French...
And with how my lifes panning out i just cannot be arsed with that car or anything else anymore :(:wall:

mine does that as well with reverse ive found if you wobble the gearstick in neutral from left to right sometimes it helps i dont know why but it does
