I got into Uni, which is the main thing. But knowing my parents are still slightly dissappointed is horrific.

I got horrible, horrible, results. I got into uni, got a degree and now leave the A level results off the menu. 10 years on they are totally irrelivant anyway

Thats what I'm thinking, once I have a degree in Business, A-Levels won't matter so much. But at the end of the day, I completely failed one subject (Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get 2 Distinctions in Business A-Level) and got a D in ICT =(

Want me to make you feel better about your results?!

I went to about 8 months of 6th form, took my as level exams and got 3 U's because i couldnt be bothered. I left before i could even get the results. 2 and a half years on i'm paying £900.00 to go back to college to get the sodding things... AT LEAST YOU PASSED!

All these qualifications are a step onto the next level, once you get into college, you GCSE's dont matter, once you get into Uni you A-levels dont matter.

If you have a 2:1 or a 1st class honours there hardly going to look at your GCSE's and go, shit you got an E in P.E. you bastard!

Most of rich people haven't finished education and thats only a few. Nearly all of poor people haven't finished education.

People that go uni decided to play it safe and want a guaranteed good life afterwards.

If I or my parents had our own successful business I would be working to expand it and not waste my time 3 years on crap that I won't even need in a working environment. But unfortunately I don't so have to go uni, even after I finish I'm not sure I'll have a decent job.

the kick in the teeth of education, when you start your new job and say 'i have a first class honours degree in english' and everyone else in the office says 'good for you', yes i stole that from dara o brien, but i honsetly don't see the point in them unless the job you ultimately want to do state you MUST have a certain qualification, like fast jet pilots must have a bsc hons degree, i wasted 3 years doing a levels only to find out it's better to get your quali's whilst on the job, in 4 years i will have a bsc hons in engineering plus 4 years working within the job, put that with someone who has the same qualifiaction but has been drinking, eating take aways and having lie ins for the same amount of time, which do you employ?

its all good sayin ppl go for 3 years of lie ins etc but i am doin a music course and I am doin that cos i no its going to 1) improve my playing 2) get me into a very difficult business. Its more likely that people will employ someone with a diploma and degree than someone that has been trying to break into the business on their own! but each to their own!
And no point lyin cos it will come back and bite you in the ass at some point!

Fair enough going uni and so on if your doing something which is guranteed a decent job at the end... but a lass i work with is going uni (or somewhere similar) for Dance. Now, not being funny but she's got next to f**k all chance of getting a job with that.
My cousin managed to get a job in dance and now live's in Canada and doing extremely well! But her sister still lives in Mansfield and is just a housewife... and they both did all the dance stuff. Granted though, the lass i work with is just sort of wasting life away at the minute and mummy and daddy pay for everything.

I didnt do A Levels, i didn't go Uni. I've got a VERY easy job, which pays well, a Ducati, a modified Saxo VTR, my trials bike, mates and an awesome girlfriend of 2 and abit years... That's more than enough for me :y:

Depends what course you do at Uni as to whether its worthwhile or not.

Myself, im doing computer science, in a field where a degree just puts you on the same playing field as pretty much everyone else whos applying for the job you are.

Uni is an awsome experience, i do feel sorry for people who havent/cant go, my dad never went and still regrets it to this day
