Sensor that cuts the car out from running could be the MAP sensor. There are a whole host of sensors that can prevent the car from starting, or even worse a combination of sensors. I dont envy you in the least bit!!!!

I'm in a similar situation! :n:
If the lambda sensor is knackered will that also stop the car from starting?

Hi Dude,
Prime suspect would be the crankshaft position (aka TDC or engine speed) sensor. It tells the ECU when to fire the spark plugs.
Others that can cause difficulty starting include: MAP (as Grumpy said), air intake temp, coolant temp.
Bad spark plugs, coil and leads /coilpack, poor compression and fuel mixture problems also can cause problems.
You'll need to narrow the fault to:
1) fuel mix
2) electrical
3) compression
Otherwise you could spend £££s guessing.
