on the drivers side, you have to undo the whole unit. Bitch to get to behind engine. Its a mahoosive shaft, with a big metal thing on it lol.

There's an intermediate bearing.
Will either need to unde x2 11mm nuts that are on an L shaped bolt that holds the shaft in.
Or undo x3 16mm iirc nuts holding the whole driveshaft bearing carrier to the engine

ok thanks for that. So i dont quite get what i do on the hub side to remove the shaft.
So i said i cant get the ball joint to come apart, is it not suppose to come apart?
What exactly do i take apart then?
Thanks.

Youll need to remove the balljoints from the strut to give you movement to pull the driveshaft outa the gearbox

You don't take anything apart, you just slide the driveshaft out of the bearing carrier by undo'ing x2 11mm nuts.
Have a look at the car, it should be fairly obvious what you need to undo

u undo the balljoing pinch bolt from the hub 16mm a think , use a lever to push downwards so the balljoint pin slides free of the hub , once thats free u can undo the 2 11mm bolts on the intermediate joint under the car holding the driveshaft in , next knock the driveshaft out of the hub on the disc side using a drift or 1/2" extension bar (asuming uve already undone the driveshaft nut) , bring the driveshaft up level and pull towards u while giving the driveshaft a little tap with a hammer , the intermedaite joint sumtimes gets sticky at teh bearing
