I'm now puzzled.
My door speakers have been playing up for months. Now and again just go silent and stop working.
So i replaced them with brand new ones still the same problem.
I also replaced the cable to the front. (100% sure its wired correctly)
all connections are good and not coming off etc.
Also the head unit was swapped for another but still had the same problem

I have traced the speaker wiring from head unit to each speaker and its fine. The head unit is supposedly fine, everything works on the unit just doesn't give off any sound.
I haven't got a mute button etc, but there is a mute cable in the wiring harness. This has never been touched so is still insulated.
The head unit is a pioneer something or other.

The previous owner had a Clifford alarm but removed it when i bought the car. not sure if that makes the slightest bit of difference.

Please give me some suggestions.

I'm not sure mate but are you having the same problem as me where it works for a short time then stops, and if you have a sub does that carry on working?

i solved the problem, the speaker terminals were touching on the door causing them to not work.
try removing your front speakers out the door and see if it starts working again
