I have heard of Albanian gangs doing this but without the stabbing.

The usually put up an advert for a performance/prestige car for a low price and lure people in that way. If a car is worth £10k and is up for £6k and the advert doesn't seem right, it probably isn't.

I'd never go with the money to view a car for the first time.

makes you think though!

when i was 18 i went on the train to wales to buy my first saxo, right out in the sticks, two of them picked me up from the train station and drove me to their house.

I had £3,000 in my jeans pocket. could of easily been robbed by the sellers lol

This country is full of people who can't/won't earn an honest wage and resort to this for a bit of easy cash!! wtf!!

They rarely have the car tbh and sometimes the picture is taken from another advert.

Plus it just says 'He was expecting to meet the seller of a Volkswagen Golf - after seeing the car for sale on the Gumtree site.'. So it does sound like he was seeing it for the first time.

Thats bad that, i wouldnt go pick a car up alone. Always with my old man or a couple of mates. Dont care if its intimidating for the owner. If you dont know them, then got go prepaired. People will do anything for money!

same when i went to get my clio i had close to 6k in my jeans pocket :panic: met the guy at the train station, said i would buy it, he went off to buy a pen and left me with the car with my mate. could have easily went and snatched the money back off him then drove off if i wanted to be a prick as he was just himself
