How many un-needed programs is there currently on your PC?
1. Anti Virus
2. Windows
3. IE
The list is endless...
AND you gotta pay for 99% of your programs (unless your a butt pirate)

I love how you just broadcast you dont use AV. Hackers dream!
My mac has never crashed.

The reasons mac's get fewer viruses is because the people who create the viruses want to infect a higher audience and considering the majority of people own a PC, they go for this market.
Mac's are over-rated, fashion accessories that have no real benefit over a PC yet have a substantially high price tag, IMO!!! Possibly if your a graphic designer it has some benefits but Photoshop/Illustrator/Fireworks does the job nicely.

Its now aug/sept 2009
new OS and safari is currently on 4.0.3 and its the most stable
IE and firefox admitted they were unstable about 2-3 months ago, when they allowed millions of ££ to be stolen fraudulently and they told people to go with safari or google chrome.

there ARE alot of virusis for Macs and they are far from safe... there are more PC's out their with windows on so obviously there will be more idiots getting them and bitching... but there ARE Mac virusis and many other security holes...
Or for those who are cheap.
For the same price of a Mac you can get a far better spec computer... simples...

Graphic design work, as macs are industry standard I don't want to be left behind. The workflow on a PC is so much slower, don't get me wrong I have a PC too which is great for things like gaming etc. but when it came to actually working on it I just gave up.

and??? there are still going to be holes... nothing is perfect, specialy when the guy says "Every time I look for [a flaw in Leopard] I find one. I can't say the same for Linux or Windows. I found the iPhone bug a year ago and that was a Safari bug as well. I've also found other bugs in QuickTime."

Hmmm i do computer science at uni and graphic design is part of our web module, never found any problems with just using Photoshop/Illustrator etc but if you do solely graphic design perhaps it is more beneficial, can't really comment as I only dabble a little bit into the graphic design side of things.

I used to dabble in graphic design and stuff on my PC which was fine but it seemed to die when I tried to do loads of graphicly intensive stuff with large files..
On the down side the only game my mac runs well is World of Warcraft. Kill me now!! :(

I'm a Web Designer and spent about 4 years struggling to work on Windows. Been a Mac for over a year and never had any problems. Never crashed, Never freezes. Could tell the difference immediately. My only regret is that I didn't do sooner.

Dont think theres a better one out the two. PC is better in other areas, and MAC in others. I use my system for internet and gaming. So i had a pc. If i was doing any sort of video, graphic, photo or design things i would of had a MAC.

mac is just as vulnerable to virus's its only starting to pick up now.
I have both and i wont buy another mac. Its good but its not any better for what i use it for and now way no how are macs worth the premium for the hardware.

It's not making any huge graphical difference, it just saves more space, is more streamlined and makes use of the hardware better to make it quicker.
And people can only join in the Mac's are rubbish arguments if you've had one (Which I doubt many, if not any of the haters (apart from Scott) haven't had one).

After using it for a day doing some graphics and web designing I do notice a big difference in boot and also connecting to wifi and also finder seems alot quicker ... so tbh worth the £25 to upgrade.

For some reason I was under the impression it was a lot more than £25. I'll have to get it, first reports are all sounding good.
And I agree with what Pieface said earlier... I think most of the people who slag off macs in these threads need to actually own one before they post crap. I was a huge Microsoft fanboy but after 8 months of mac I won't be going back.
