The scallies won't know whats hit them this year.Cheshire Police to target drugs and weapons at Creamfields
Aug 23 2009 By Chester Chronicle

CHESHIRE Police will target festival goers carrying drugs and weapons at this year’s Creamfields.

The dance music extravaganza, which attracts 100,000 fans to Daresbury Park, takes place next weekend and officers are keen to make it a crime-free event.

Hundreds of police officers across the county, including the Western Rural unit, will patrol the two-day festival and annual leave has been cancelled across the weekend.

Music fans and campers will be checked by sniffers dogs at the entrances to the site, as police target would-be criminals.

Insp Giles Pierce said: "Searches are a condition of entry and drugs dogs will be used at the entrances to the site.

"Anyone found with drugs or weapons, having not placed them into the amnesty bins which will be provided at the entrance to the event arena, will be dealt with by police.

"A number of measures have been put in place by the force to deal with any incidents of crime and disorder while the festival is in progress.

"Police will take positive action against anyone intent on committing a crime, or being involved in crime and disorder, so as to maintain the good nature of the event that we have seen in previous years. Police will also patrol the huge campsites surrounding the main arena.

Just because its a quite village it doesnt mean all the local yobs come, Ive been a few times and it was quite apparent that there were to many scouce wankers there to cause trouble.

Since the camping came in though I am expecting it to have changed etc..

The amnesty bins have been there for ages, it still doesnt stop people throwing bottles etc.. drugs shouldnt really be a problem, most people drugged up at raves are flat out on their backs outside of the tents by about 3am lol

i hate that, when i go to an event like that i want no violence or to see any all weekend theres nothing better then a good atmosphere of pure love and calm where everyones there for the music.
