saxo 1.5d? :p

i think old punto diesels are supposed to be pretty good with the mpg, and are cheap.
or something French like a 306.

What you all seem to be missing is you need to do a hell of a lot of miles to get any gains from a Diesel car, if your just commuting average miles your better off with a smaller Petrol eg a westy/furio.

tbh i was gonna ask if he's doing short journeys. but your right, you pay a premium for a diesel. maybe is best to save a few hundred and buy a petrol.
also, my vtr got me 44mpg, so an oldish diesel wont be massively better anyway really. especially if you just do shorts runs.

the vtr isnt much to run tbh i do 400 miles a week and it costs about £40 on fuel. usualy but with the tax goin up be more now lol rekon you will struggle to get a diesle much cheaper that said a mate has a 1.6tdci fiesta and t runs and runs.
