Its the same old story, it will yo yo up and down so much. The amount of tax that is put on the fule is just unreal. Its tax upon tax.
furiomike
31st August 2009, 21:34
i think it'll cost people on average about £36 a year more. soooo with the 26 million (ish) cars on the road that's about £1,000,000,000. (one thousand million quid... or one billion if your American). they'll probably spend it on shite.

well i'd say the cheaper petrol is saving you about 0.3 pence a mile, so you'd have to live pretty close to the petrol station to make it worthwhile. like about 50 yards.

but if it goes up by 2p and you put £40 worth in now, then after its gone up 2p then it will only cost an extra 76p more for £40 worth. hardly breaking the bank.
Mr_Willy
31st August 2009, 22:08
Its going to be 120p by christmas so ill be buying by the barrel, and then selling it to public lol : )

yeah exactly. that's why its not worth rushing out and driving 10 miles to get some.

exactly. i used 3p off per litre vouchers the other day, was working how much i should put in to make it exactly a tenner after the 3p's been taken off. and 3p off it atm is 103.9 which seems cheap. for a tenner it would save me less than 30p. not worth it imo.

Its 'only' 2p or 76p as somebody said.
Im using probably a tank a week, thats just work, no Sax-P meets, social life etc
soon adds up.
and the government will still waste it anyway.

benwh555
31st August 2009, 22:45
Its not the fact that now its only 2p, its easy to keep thinking that, before we know it it will be a lot more. But i see it going up and down for a bit longer yet, not quite election time is it! Or am i just been cynical

Im happy to pay it, they roger us enough already and it will make a decent input to our economy as a whole. The quicker we get out of this the better.
Plus remember we've all been paying 15% VAT on everything for ages. Thats a lot of money lost. Little changes like these piss off or make everyone happy, but they actually really effect the poorest about which is all that matters tbh. If you dont like it, work harder/more/somewhere else ;)

Was wondering, say if you where to fill up say 30 litres.
Would it be cheaper to buy 97 octane fuel, or buy 95 and buy a cheap octane booster?

We've had it pretty good for the last 6 months or so, so we shouldn't complain. The french and germans are more expensive, but in the states petrol is around 45p a litre!

I love the fact i can use my bike to get to places i need to now, like work. Even better is that i may be able to get a job working with the mother so i will spend £0 in fuel commuting as ill go with her. Winner!
Fuel prices are a fucking joke, the oil is going down by the drum, and are fuel is going up! Who's pocketing the extra then.
Anyone fancy a "sax-p steal a fuel tanker like in fast and furious trip"? lol

Yeah I drive a 2.5 V6 everyday (although I would definately call it a beast lol) and the fuel it uses is ridiculous. I'm using it mostly round town with the kids and I'm averaging about 22.8mpg at the moment. Makes a change from the 40 mpg I was getting out of the VTR

I hate that we get charged more for driving but birmingham get 600 million quid to spunk on re-vamping new street train station while motorists sit at road works where nobody is working and then at the next turn its all potholes and stuff!
Wheres our nice roads? i know thats nowt to do with petrol but you get my point?

I remember when it was 63p a ltr.
If you want to blame the goverment for it, then blame them for the countrys they have gone to war with. That is why your petrol prices are high, only a small % is to do with tax.
Infact why don't you ask the goverment to stop going to war with America in countrys, where the highest comodity is oil and tell them to stop America from taking over and running that country.........
Or why not blame the oil companys that make £££ billions a year from us for fuel, then that way we can have cheaper fuel. We are easy to blame the ones in power, but are they really the ones to blame.
