What is snapping? sounds extremely dodgey and dangerous, I've lowered loads of cars and i've never snapped anything.

If stuff is snapping there either using very low quality parts or (in my eyesmore likely) there doing something wrong when doing the job

Nooob question now so i do apoligise but i ride a bike and am tryin to pick up the car lingo.
to lower your car you have to buy springs and the suspention kid ? or can you just buy the springs ? a mate who has a chavved up pug 106 said its best to get springs and suspention kit as just springs will make the car control nasty....
cheers lads

wish i had a suspension kid!!! lol
no but you are right in a way.....ive got just spings and my car handles nice imo but it would handle a lot better if i had the shocks done aswell...
i dont know where your mate got the handling nasty bit from unless the springs he has used were worse the standard??? ive got spax and there better then standard and a standard vtr handles a lot better then nasty as standard so make ur own mind up on that one mate...;)

tbh i come from a motorbike ridin background and tbh having posh car suspention and paying about £350 for um aint gonna make much differance on the road. like on a bike a rear shock your looking at upwards of £700 for a decent ohlins or k-tech shock and quite frankly your never gonna use it to the full potential so most people just have softer or harder springs fitted so i think i may just get springs so its lowered 40-45mm and be done with it then spend rest on decnt alloys then try and find some extra ponys and point my main focus on accelration. no doubt i shall be back to haunt you lot about mods to up the acceleration so i`ll be back ;)

i got a set of spax 60mm springs and dampers both for the rear and front, got the torsion done too. all parts,fitting...balancing..tracking etc from demontweeks. £380-£390
handles like a dream . topped it off by adding upper and lower braces too. 90squid each. not too exspensive considering the difference it makes
