battery light

when im drivin and getting past about 4,5,6,7rpm my lights comin on, and yesterday i was drivin and all power went and wouldnt go again,

i put a different battery on it and it aint as bad but still lights up, are we sayin alternator or the belt??

is the belt still in place mate hasnt snapped or that ?

sounds like a slipping belt, check the belt tension you should be able to twist the belt 90 degress no more or no less. and adjust accordingly

was gna try the belt 1st its the cheaper option

i bet that the exhaust manifold has burnt the wiring on the alternator mate, mine did this a while back.


Wait til its dark, open the bonnet and get a mate to rev the car and you will see a spark from the exhaust manifold to the alternator where its going down to earth.
