Im 20, with 1NCB and held license 1 year and 11 months.

currently own a 1.8 astra coupe and paynig £154/month with churchill, they wont insure me on a 1.6 VTR though.

iv got intouch with Bell and they quoted me £205/month!!

More than have quoted me £175/month!! thats too expensive aswell... ideally i dont want to pay more than what im paying for the astra.

any suggestions?

Chris Knott will only insure you if you have 1 years NCB..

Try Brentaces Insurance, they may well be cheap for you.

kyle_d
7th September 2009, 06:55
ill try those 2 today.

Iv only had astra 2weeks and its running like a bag of shit and needs quite a bit spending on it and right now i cant afford it. And its wellll slow its the 113bhp model but believe me its slow dunno if its cos its not running right or what. I have a fuel leak/problem too im getting 15-20mpg whilst driving as slow as humanely possible.

Thats crazy! Why are mine so expensive. Who are you with? Do you live in a nice area? I live on a council estate in leeds im guessing thats my main problem.

7th September 2009, 07:30
Dude why do you want to down grade?

I've drove a 1.8 coupe before and they are amazing compared to a VTR.

kyle_d
7th September 2009, 08:12
Okay al try adrian flux. And what did you think to the coupe speed-wise? It might just be mine thats a sh*t example and slow as fook. Although its the first year model, theyre 113bhp.. a couple of years later they were 123bhp. i like the car, but iv noticed a few bad things and i dont want to spend quite a bit of money that i cant afford to spend and it still not be what i want or run right. Cos i wont get my money back when i sell it.

Best quote so far for VTR is Swinton @ £130/month with 1.5months deposit so around £1500. That's fully comp.

Best quote on a VTS so far is Sky @ £124/month with 365 deposit. BUT thats only TPFT and if i wait until iv held my license 2 years which is 11th october.

So that's good for a VTR, but bad for a VTS lol i really want a VTS now too :(

Mieran
7th September 2009, 09:37

lol at people complaining at high insurance.

Try living in N.Ireland, almost double everyone elses quotes.

Cheapest I could get for my mk2 vtr (im 18 0 ncb) was £3700 and the most expensive was £8500, most companies wouldn't even insure me.

Put it under my mums name ftw..........

I can agree with you on this one! I lived in southern ireland and only 2 companies insuranced young people. at 20 on a 1.4 I was paying €3500 fully comp on a 1 year old 1.4 Almera, and €2500 fully comp on a modded Avensis the year after, crazy money but not much you can do! They had the monopoly.

TPFT sucks :homme:

haha, i was never tpft ... lol was fc on vts and come renewal i sold vts and got my fezza st ... renewal quotes on comparision sites were like 900 fc on vts and 800 ish tpft on the vts if i had kept it but i sold it for my fiesta st which is 1k full comp at 19...

the rs im getting on my 20th birthday wil cost me 2k ful comp at 20years old :) :y:

tpft is alright on a saxo its worth fuk all who givs a toss if u write off a £1000 tincan that nobody likes :drink:

but for the ones with heavily modded saxos worth maybe 3grand i would understand fc lol ...
