View Full Version : TRAX 2009 - Award Winners
Simo
6th September 2009, 20:34
Thanks to everyone who attended the show today and supported Saxperience; once again, we had a great turn out! At about half past two, the show stand award winners were announced. After quite a bit of deliberating, I decided to scrap two of the awards, but re-cycle them.
The Track driving award was not presented, as its difficult to actually witness members driving on track, when they are split in different sessions. I think we'll leave this until we have a dedicated track session once more. The Entertainment award wasn't presented, as nobody particularly stood out as a good all-rounder, keeping the troops entertained. Everyone got along great, but there was nothing that stood out (IMO) ;)
So, this meant that two extra runner-up awards were presented for the cars on display!
Here are the award winners...

I like Rossi86's car so much, would've got my vote for show and shine winner. I thought that was you btw, I should've said hello but thought if it wasn't you it would've been embarrassing. "Are you Rossi86?" "No, who?" "Taxi!"
The white Rallye would've got my vote for best non-saxo.
These aren't complaints btw, just giving my 2p.
Next show though I am going to park near the gazebo as the winners seemed to already be around it :detective:

I was on the stand, although i had to dash off to try and sort some tracktime so i didnt get to speak to anyone.......anyway all i would like to say is that there were saxos there that really let the side down...(bodykitted halfords specials).......however i was pleased that none where on the sax-p stand , so well done for that.
i didnt manage to sort tracktime but after watching it in the end i was glad. i do trackdays often and i had never seen anythin like it before...........its usually strict overtaking on the left only......not - any spare tarmac make a lunge.
was a good day in all. many moaned about ken block, but given the space he had and the quality of his driving he was class, if ya gonna moan, moan at the organisers for not givin him more room.
only downside was the queue into trax.( i jumped most of the queue up to the roundabout like a shit house) like 2 miles worth. my car would go bang staying at the back. and even then i was quein for donkeys and me feet were killin. all i can say is thank god for twin fan or by by engine.

cheers people and cheers simo the award most unexspeced specially on way home when the sax-p runner up best saxo tryed to breakdown on me but i out foxed it!!!!
i dropped down a gear on m1 just out of leics forest services missing around with dsh in the 1.5d monstar!!! haha when i heard a wrapping noice and dived to hard shoulder and check under bonnet and find the alt belt snapping!!!
so i cut the but off and trying jump back onto motorway when i build up speed to pull back on anuv bit snapped so back on shoulder to cut anuv bit off!!!
so then i sett off very very slowly and gentle i set off and i drove all the way back at 45-50 at very low revs it taking 4hours to get to york lol

Certainly can be done :)
Would certainly encourage more people to have a go, it is much more rewarding when doing most of the work yourself
Best of luck with your project, look forward to seeing it next year

but just hate when people auto think people have lots of money and dump car at bodyshops and pick up when ready nothing can be more far away from the true
WestCoastJosh
7th September 2009, 20:32

You did most of your respray bits didnt you yorkie?
I did all the prep work for mine aswel, only bit i didnt do was the spraying. Prep work took the best part of 2 weeks to get right. Know the lad at the bodyshop so he was happy to give me guidance which kept the cost down on my wallet massively although i did have alot of blisters afterwards lol
i still feel there is more and its and i not finished yet
Ditto, its neverending
