Fair play to the bloke. The other guy will learn to be on his guard next time.

What was wrong with that? The bell sounded, the ref started it, they touched gloves?

fair play to him as above, should have been on guard. Nothing wrong with what he did there.

Won't have done his career any favours at all... at the end of the day they still need to entertain and still need to be liked by the fans, so he has only shot himself in the foot... the boo's say it all. If he was any kind of sportsman he certainly wouldn't have responded with "shut up I knocked this motherfucker out"... so disrespectful, and the top orgs in MMA really really don't want that at all, especially from a nobody :|

Can someone tell me what is wrong with what he did?

Just general bad sportsman ship isn't it, technically there is nothing wrong with what he did, but in terms of what people would view as "acceptable" outside of the rules, in terms of conduct and sportsman like behaviour, then it's pretty shit raising your hand so the other person raises theirs then striking them almost at the same time as touching gloves... I've seen it done in UFC before though, although it didn't work.

It's like in football, if a player goes down, you CAN kick the ball out of play, but as far as I'm aware you don't have to? If the other team doesn't, then they get jeered and the other team kicks off a bit, it's just sportsman conduct isn't it.

He's obviously disrespectful anyway, no need to refer to his opponent as a motherfucker.

I think what he did is ok, at the end of the day it worked. Its a fighting sport, not polo or golf or something, its not always going to be pretty.

That's fair enough, but you are in a minority of people who think it's ok... nout wrong with that though.

Still though, MMA is a sport very much about mutual respect. Sure it comes across violent but the fighters are very respectful of each other, just watch a few UFC shows and you will see it, no matter how much they dislike each other going in, 99% of the time they shake hands and hug, and lose as graciously as they win...

It's like I said about football and kicking the ball out of play, or a manager complaining about timewasting or keeping the ball in a corner, or playing "too defensive" or some clubs not being an attacking side, sure the rules don't stop you from doing it, but is it really considered sportsman like.

In my view that punch was not very sportsman like and his attitude at the end was very disrespectful, and he really has no place in MMA, he's not a big superstar and his attitude is shit, so the sport doesn't need him... he's no Phil Baroni who may be disrespectful as hell before every fight and cocky as hell in every fight, but he's a damn good fighter, and very entertaining, and still shows respect when he loses and wins...

id lose that attitude if you are serious about starting boxing lol.

I wouldnt do it personally, i just think people where over reacting, as said previously, he didnt do anything against the rules.

Lets face it, 99% of people would agree that what he did was disrespectful to the other bloke and since it is still classed as a "sport" it was 'un-sporting' of him and now he's made a bad name for himself...

Bloke above said it well with comparing it to knocking the ball outta play if a man goes down in rugby (or kicking the ball back to the other team after a foul)..... its just good sportsmanship..

The guy who tried to interview that dickhead at the end looked totally un-easy and i bet he was thinking the same thing as everybody else (booing) in the joint.

P.s. As above, if that happened in boxing, it would be frowned upon so much. Its never happened in any ive been in or seen, or even heard about.
