The thing is, its an album i have never downloaded before, tbh i hate the band.
Because apparently its been happening a lot
Companies putting out fines, seeing who will pay them, then doing it again.

You would have a letter from your ISP at the least,
Also you would get a warning first, (I think)
Who does it say the fine is from?

It's usually the ones uploading the files in the first place that get caught.

Scooter, jumping all over the world - Never heard it in my life.
I 100% didn't download it
Download it now to listen too it :D.
I meant the company :p.
They say they have their precedent with this woman who was found 'guilty' (she didn't turn up).
They can never prove it was you, because you could have friends round downloading on your connection, your wireless could of been used by someone else, your wireless could of been hacked even if it's protected.
Like you said, they send out a bunch of letters, scaring people with legal jargon, saying if you don't pay the £500 then they will take you to court etc.
Problem is.. by paying, you admit liability.
They will not take you too court, they can't afford it, if everyone keeps saying no.. They send out thousands of these letters.
Plus they've been getting bad press lately for targeting couples like, elderly couples that don't even have internet, people that have been living in different countries when it 100% could not have been them etc.
my advice is too ignore it, or, if you want to be argumentative, write a letter back telling them you want to go to court because it wasn't you, and claim damages, whatever.

BPI = The British Recorded Music Industry,
I would ring the number or something and inquire about it

I had a letter from my ISP. Not about downloading music but I was going to get fined because someone was using my computer as a 'host' or something to send virus'. They told me to download their anti virus software and run it. Never heard anything again from them.
But anyway, my point is you will probably get a warning letter first from your ISP.

yea you can get fined and the latest ones to cut you off ill carry on ignoring it, there will be no point having the internet if they carry on and what are they going to do turn everyones internet off everyones at it, the providers will make no money then when theyve switched off 90% and are they going to lock us all up downloading oh well youll probably get longer than a rapist aswell.

The case stands that your network provider can ( and this happened to my friend ) warn you about your downloading actions before you get any form of a fine... the chances of you getting caught and fined for a downloading few things are minimal.. think about it, you got billions of people world wide...all doing the same thing.
yeah russel lol,...u get thrown in the slammer... and you would say to a guy, what you in here for ? .. his reply, I murdered and raped a woman...he says what about you ? .. i downloaded district 9 and watched it before release lol... ooh naughty you ! Now bend over ! lol ....
that should be the new piracy tv advert

Must admit getting fines nowadays are pretty common i mind reading back a while that a young lassie got fined for downloading nursery rhymes fined about 8k and the lassie was only about 8 or 9 its fucking ridiculous. Anyway i for one wont stop downloading illegally but im pretty lucky i have an abundance of wireless's next to my house so maybe a few of them got letters lol
