View Full Version : New Wishbones/droplinks VS Powerflex bush kit?

As my VTS has now hit 70K miles, the old wihsbone bushes and drop links are getting a bit tired.

My car isn't used for anything other than daily driving, but I'd like the handling tightened up and braking ability increased slightly.
My two options for doing this are

1) New standard wishbones and drop links at a cost of approx £85

or

2) New Powerflex bushes, new drop links and ball joints at approx £120

Whats the recommendations?? obviously replacing the full arm is easier and quicker!! :wink:

I bet the price of the Powerflex bushes makes option 2 so expensive. Get Polyrace bushes instead (stiffer and cheaper) from Kam Racing. :)

Option 2's price would need to include new ball joints/drop links too remember!!
Not sure I want to spend another £50 on this.. or is it £50 well spent?

Well its common sense really, second option as thats option 1 aswell as the bushes for £35 more.

I personally rebuilt my woshbones, got new rear bushes and ball joints for £30, pressed on for £20 and got £16 poly bushes from proflex so in all £66 for uprated new wishbones!

Not gonna pretend it was really easy removing rear bushes but wasn't "too" hard

Noticable difference on a daily? Or only really needed for a track car?

Was a massive difference on my daily, but, my rear bush on one side was also totally dead so part will have been replacing that

Yeah, was looking at mine last night while I was lowering it. Didnt look the best. Hence why I have put the thread about the polys. I had solid mounts on my old 205. Worked a treat
