harrow!

id thought id have a rant as in annoyed at the min

as some of you may be aware my VTS has been for sale for about a month now. all ive had so far are time wasters and messers.

ive pretty much fully rebuilt the car and spent over 6 grand, its now just short of 160 BHP and nearly like it came out of the factory.

but after dropping the price to £2200 which is absolutely devastating im still only getting time wasters.:wall:

what annoys me even more is that some VTSs that are nearly standard with only a few breathing mods are going and selling for 3k!!!
:wall::wall::wall:

i dont get it, someone please make sense of it

mods dont add value, thats why. People see cars that have been messed with as "potentially" used and abused

At the end of the day, people are going to see a few engine mods and rightly or wrongly, assume you kane the tits of it. That just puts people off.

Your market is a guy looking for a cammed vts with enough cash for yours. It takes time when only apealing to a certain market

i know you dont get money back from mods but im in shock honestly

mentioning no names nut a friends vts which was very similar apart from his nin sun roof roof skin went not so long ago for 3k without the engine.

thats why im so confused

its far from abused, i only just finished building it approx 3 months ago. due to a change of circumstances unfortunately i have to regrettably sell it as i can no longer afford to keep it so at the min ive just been pottering about in it as a daily

Tuned cars are worth less than standard car for the most part. Your best to strip the modified parts off and sell them separate and sell the car as standard.

its a cammed stripped out track toy. even the VT kit has been altered. unfortunately it would cost me alot of cash to swap it back to standard, get the standard map put back on etc.... so thats not a viable option

A I see, yes track toys never sell for much normally. My old race car with everything from £1500 worth of engine management to £1500 worth or GMC full race head to hundreds worth lug drive clutch to a full race gearbox that cost more than a Saxo did new and so on and the hole car sold for similar money to what you are talking for yours. If you have the time strip it and sell the lot for parts if you have done a lot to it. Its generally the best way to get money back on highly tuned cars. I sold a set of throttle bodies the other day on ebay for more then I got them for new. There are mad people out there.

unfortunately i think stripping the car for bits is not an option either as people back out once stripping the car has begun so for example - ill get left with a car without an engine or wheels but all the rest of the parts.

possibly sitting on my drive for months or even years, ive seen it happen a few times which is what is making me think this is my last resort

Not read anyone elses comment other than the link you posted about it

The main issues that you have is the mods. Its no where near standard and by my opinion its too low. The fact that it is stripped and lowered would put a massive % of buyers off! Im not meaning this in a bad way its just that your shortening your market by a mile. I looked at about 11 saxos before buying mine which was completley standard, 2 previous female owners and full service his.

The problem with this is people are going to look at it and think its been ragged by some chavtastic bad boy (no offense). I suggest putting it back to standard height and re installing the interior to mostly factory :y:

8 of the vtrs i looked at had either been ragged and a few mods (induction, exhaust etc) others had been lowered n obv werent in good health. Only 2 were standard n one of which had a high milage which put me off lol

I would never buy a cammed car because it will have been thrashed.

I don't know your driving style and I could be wrong but why would someone need the extra power unless they are going to use it.

Looks tidy fella, just seems to me if you raise it up a little bit, and sell you seat or swap it for a stanard set with door cards. They can be had for around £50 mark i think.

i have been building the car to use as a track toy, i were about to buy a second car as my daily when i finished building the saxo earlier this year but unfortuantely i was made redundant and been out of work for most of this year. so the car has just been sat outside my mums house collecting dust. hence the sale. so its never been ragged at all hardly used in fact

i very rarely rag my cam'd vts, the only time i do is if i drive somewhere at night. Otherwise the roads are too busy, or too dangerous to redline everygear.

why would i raise it when air under your car is bad?

i fail to see how its chavy? (i admit the speakers on the floor arnt exactly brilliant)

i agree with the seat idea i think thats the route i may go down tbh

i agree 100% about modding a car again. i would love to have kept this car and had a derv for my daily but ive had 2 months work all year. im pretty much on the verge of selling my possessions to get by. its not good times to be honest.

regards the tints i actually had them done to add to the "sleeper effect". when i started out with the car and started working on it i set with the goal of subtle and sleeper modifications.

nothing too in your face and obvious unless you really knew what you were on about.

the window tints were to hide the stripped out interior to add to sleeper effect.

and yes, after several talks and reading up air under your car is a bad thing. (track cars only btw) hence such a low stance.

look at touring cars etc.. there is a reason why they are so low.

ive already provisionally sold the engine gear box and ecu for £1100 if it gets broken for bits.

you can have the rest of the shell for £1200?

(bearing in mind a very similar conditioned shell went for 3k not so long ago)

Just not a market for buying or selling cars at the moment mate.

Another problem you have is the number of knobs on here that are just dreamers. Get it cleaned up, take it for some sunset pics on the coast and bang it on eBay. Some go for a pretty penny on there

As for mods dont add value, I disagree, they dont add what they cost but cammed vts do fetch more than a standard s.
