I found that coming from a 1985 mk3 xr3i. I think its because they are so light in weight.

yeah they are easy on the tyres.

Unless you do uber burnouts and hand brake turns.

Even on tracks i think mine doesnt wear much on the rubber y0!

Depends on how you drive, how often, what tyres you have etc..

They are usually pretty good on tyres.
I did get through a pair of T1Ss on the front in 5k though LOL

I had Kumho's on the front but they were getting down to the legal limit so I swapped the front wheels with the rear which has budget cheap shit. The budget tyres don't seem to have lost any tread on them since I did the swap months ago.

Ive done about 25000 miles on the same tyres! And still loads of tread left.

I think I should just change them due to their age now.

budget tyres are made to last due to there compound. as there harder. but you lose out on wet surface performance.

top of the range tyres have a medium middle and soft outter edge compound thus is why they wear away faster as the rubber heats up and sticks you to the tarmac. and is the reason why tyres like toyo, pirellies aslways suffer on inner and outer tread lose.

tyres are one of the most if not the most important thing on a car as its the item that basicly keeps you on the road.

if your doing track days then get toyo's,bridgestones but if its everyday driving and Not goin nuts speeding around corners then budget ones do there job just fine.

Good post dude, I think your spot on with regards to budget tyres. Mine are proof.

Will go for Toyo next and see how I get on with them.

i have worn out 4 toyos in 15K. :(

lol 15k is good on my bike i use bsb pirelli supercorsas or metzeler race tecs which are uber sticky british superbike spec tyres... there infat from my mate who raced in british supersport last year and they just get torn up within 3000 miles and being £250 a set is a shit.

factors of tire use is down to weight of car, corner exit speed, how you accelerate, weight distribution of the car etc etc so many factors. i for one will always say on a bike or a car tyres is one of the best mods you can do as if you have ubber sticky tires your gonna be more confident due to the extra grip if your on a private road and thrashin it ;)
