Right...
Cut a long story short, i once snapped the downpipe (leaving everything else intact.. backbox wasn't in all the way and stuck out about 6 inches, reversed it into a high kerb/low wall type thing... everything underneath went forward and the downpipe was the part that gave in!)
So i thought, Ok kool, just get myself a new downpipe, put it on and sorted... oh was I wrong...
The joint between the mani and the downpipe is triangular in shape. The two joining edges which are easy to run your finger across and look at to see the join are a nice tight fit... whereas the edge at the back, almost totally inacessible has about 1-2mm gap in it, its almost constantly blowing from there.. The best temporary fix for it i have found is covering it up with "gun gum" stuff every fortnight or so, works pretty well, but im getting fed up of it..
Undecided on:
replacing the whole lot with...
Janspeed CITROEN SAXO 1.4i Westcoast 05/96-09/00 Aluminised Manifold (EM580)
or just getting a downpipe and manifold already joined together from the scappy
just to add to this after I had fitted this all, i got the rest of the exhaust done properly, nice catback (with my existing backbox) for just £70, so eveyrthing else is fine apart from that join...
What to do?
